About Us

History

A microwave tube is an electron tube operating in the microwave frequency range, based on vacuum and electron beam technology. Extensive manufacturing experience backed up by proven heritage is most important for manufacturing high quality tubes.

1924 Began manufacturing of triode
1936 Opened Tamagawa tube plant
1944 Started development of microwave tube
1951 Started development of C-band Helix TWT for radio links
1964 Started development of C-band high power TWT
1973 Started development of space TWT
1975 Delivered Ka-band high power TWTs and klystrons
1988 Delivered space TWTs for BS-3 project
1993 Registered for ISO 9001 firm
1994 Started development of MPM
1997 Moved to Sagamihara Plant
2002 Established NEC Microwave Tube, Ltd. by a spin out of the Microwave Tube Division from NEC Corporation.
2003 Registered for ISO 14001 firm
2004 Started development of MMPM
2007 Registered for ISO 27001 firm
